"I had a ball," said John Flemming after making his NASCAR Canadian Tire Series (NCATS) debut in the Komatsu 300, and in spite of a 12th-place finish - which would typically have the three-time champ in a post-race funk.

It's a great series," said the three-time Maritime Pro Stock Tour champion. "Everything runs like clockwork and there is so much respect between the racers and the officials. It was a fantastic experience, except that our car didn't handle nearly as well as it should have."

Flemming admits his lack of experience in the NASCAR-type racecar contributed to the set-up and ultimate handling issue.

"It was dragging the track most of the race," said Flemming. "I'm amazed we were only five laps down at the end."

On the up side Flemming had so much fun at the race he is seriously thinking of running a limited NCATS schedule in 2012, in addition to his pro stock racing.

"We're going to look at it over the winter," said Flemming. "We'll see how it all shakes out, but we'd love to do more of those races."

Flemming is hoping to run this Saturday's season finale at Petty International Raceway in New Brunswick - with his attendnace being totally dependant whether his car is ready, or not.

"I hope the car is ready," said Flemming. "I'm not ready for the season to be over yet."

Flemming fans should check back Thursday or Friday to confirm his weekend plans.
