John Flemming | Bio
John Flemming began his racing career in 1984 when he entered a demolition derby - and won. Hooked, he decided to try stock car racing later that year. He entered the street stock division at Scotia Speedworld near Halifax, Nova Scotia, his home track. Ten years later, in 1994, Flemming decided to make the move to MASCAR - the premiere touring division in the Maritimes during the 80s and 90s. He was runner up for the 1994 MASCAR Rookie of the Year.
Since then John's racing career has included many honours and victories. In 1998 he was voted by his fellow drivers as the winner of the Debbie Hallahan Memorial Trophy for the most sportsmanlike driver. The '99 season included five feature wins. The '00 season saw John win the New England Pro Stock Association (NEPSA) Rookie of the Year title and visit Victory Lane in the prestigious Atlantic CAT 250 at Scotia Speedworld. 2001 saw John as a part-time competitor and two-time winner on the CARQUEST Pro Stock Tour.
John Flemming went the first five years of his pro stock racing career without a win. Since then he has accumulated more than a dozen feature wins, is a fan favourite, and was the first three-time Parts for Trucks Pro Stock Tour champion.
On September 17, 2011 John Flemming (No. 98, pictured above racing series champion Scott Steckley) made his NASCAR debut driving in the Canadian Tire Series (NCATS) Komatsu 300 at Riverside International Speedway near Antigonish, Nova Scotia. In spite of a 12th-place finish he had a ball, and may look at running more NCATS races in the future.
